MENA Women Economic Empowerment Hackathon

The World Bank, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, is organizing a Hackathon that aims to benefit from technology and creativity to tackle the pressing issue of Economic and financial empowerment of women in Maghreb. This model has been used successfully in other countries.

The Hackathon seeks to identify creative ways to address the constraints that impede disadvantaged women from participating in the economy and accessing the labor force.

For this initiative, the World Bank will bring together young developers, women's associations from specific regions and sponsors from the private sector to facilitate the process and ensure the sustainability of solutions.

During the two-day Hackathon event, volunteer technologists will work to offer solutions prototypes  to the critical challenges related to  women economic empowerment that have been identified previously. Read more
