World Government Summit: Strong presence of Morocco at the “Best m-Government Service Award"

On the occasion of the 4th World Government Summit, held in Dubai from 8 to 10 February 2016 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed ben Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Sovereign of Dubai, Morocco received 3 prizes at the Best m-Government Service Award ceremony in three different categories, namely:

  • The First Prize in the Arab World in the “Health” category for the mobile application to manage appointments online at Moroccan public hospitals, developed as part of the Digital Morocco 2013 strategy, by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy for the Ministry of Health.
  • The First Prize in the Arab World in the “Transportation and Infrastructure” category for the application ADM Mobile, developed by the “Societé Nationale des Autoroutes du Maroc” (Moroccan highway authority).
  • The Third Prize in the Arab World in the “One Stop App” category for the mobile application “Talabi”, developed as part of the Digital Morocco 2013 strategy, by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, and which allows tracking of e-government services.

The “Best m-Government Service Award”, which is in its third edition, is an annual event which is part of the new vision of smart government of the UAE. It aims to motivate and encourage government bodies to develop creative and innovative mobile application solutions.

It should be noted that the Summit is a world forum dedicated to defining the future of governments throughout the world. It is also an occasion to present innovations, best practices and smart solutions to inspire creativity and face future challenges. It is seen as:

  • A platform to exchange knowledge between governments about technologies and innovation.
  • A networking platform for decision-makers, experts and pioneers in human development.
  • A platform for analysing future trends, challenges and opportunities
